The Centre for Molecular Oncology is a new research centre established within the School of Biomedical Sciences at UNSW which is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of cancer. The Centre applies basic, translational and clinical approaches to understanding cancer biology through patient‑centred discovery programmes and uses this information to improve patient outcomes through clinical trials.
About the role
This position will manage the operations of the consenting team in the Cancer Screening Program (CaSP) within the Centre for Molecular Oncology (CMO). It will actively develop and implement practices and procedures to support CaSP’s research activities, collect, manage and analyse data, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive research outcomes. The role will also lead and supervise the CaSP consenting team (up to 8 direct reports) and other research staff or students, and design and manage research databases and systems to monitor performance, report on key metrics, and recommend improvements.
Key skills and experience required
Biomedical Science degree highly regarded, with extensive relevant graduate experience and a range of management experience (including people management).
Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office, custom patient databases and Confluence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced. Proven ability to influence senior management and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
Sound influencing and consultation skills and proven ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, as well as to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
