Station Manager/General Manager

Under the direction of the Regional Director, the incumbent is responsible, either personally or through subordinates, for managing his/her station in a manner that achieves optimal profitability through sales, high-level customer service, operational efficiencies, utmost integrity, and with a strong commitment to PSA/BDP International Inc in the Dallas Branch.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Work with existing sales team to execute sales strategy. This includes, but is not limited to, personally building and maintaining a book of business and providing executive coaching and support to team as needed.
2. Maximize profitability through strong, decisive and entrepreneurial leadership, while maintaining PSA/BDP’s high standards of quality and customer service.
3. Foster strong relationships with customers and vendors to strengthen PSA/BDP’s position in the marketplace.
4. Operate station with the utmost integrity with full support of PSA/BDP International’s DNA.
5. Strong ability to recognize, hire, develops, and train high potential talent and provide a challenging and rewarding work experience.
6. Continually strive for additional value creation and efficiencies for our customers including improvement of existing KPIs.
7. In collaboration with team, drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the station to improve our customer experience and to enhance operational efficiencies.
8. Ability to adapt to and manage change in a manner that results in little to no adverse impact to station or customers.
9. Promote global teamwork by working closely with global partners to identify and close business opportunities and to strengthen PSA/BDP’s brand throughout the world.
10. Ability to understand financial statements (i.e. P&L, Cash Flows, etc.) in order to maximize profits through sound business practices.
11. Performs supervisory duties in manner consistent with PSA/BDP when hiring, training and developing, coaching and counseling, evaluating, and disciplining employees.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

To ensure that all decisions and actions take into account the utmost safety in respect to the quality of the Environment , and health of employees and contractors in which PSA/BDP interacts with on a daily basis.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in business or related field from a four-year college or university.(Preferred)
Minimum seven years overall management experience with a concentrated background in all freight forwarding arenas.
Knowledge of import and export procedures.
Proven sales record in securing and maintaining customer base.
Completion of any industry related course is an asset.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or overseas agents.
Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on various topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills, strong attention to details, ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong decision-making and leadership skills.

Ability to recognize practical and appropriate solutions to business problems.

Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite(Word, Excel), Lotus Notes or similar email, and other applications as required
