Job Description

Medix is currently seeking a skilled PET/CT Technologist for a specialized contract assignment at an independent private practice. In this role, you will work on behalf of Medix with our client facility to perform routine and advanced PET/CT procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician looking to work in a high-tech environment that conducts clinical research trials and utilizes cutting-edge equipment.
As a contract clinician with Medix, you will be responsible for performing scans to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illnesses and injuries with a high degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities

Perform routine and advanced PET/CT and SPECT procedures on designated portions of the body.
Screen patients prior to procedures for precautions or contraindications.
Explain procedures to patients, position them for optimal scanning, and provide continuous patient support throughout the process.
Assess, prepare, record, and administer radiopharmaceuticals via intravenous methods according to NRC and State regulations.
Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines.
Utilize Royal Solutions EHR and PACS for documentation and imaging management.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and report technical concerns to leadership as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Licensure: Active New York State (NYS) License is required.
Certification: Dual registry in ARRT (CT) and (NM), or ARRT (CT) and NMTCB.
Life Support: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Professionalism: Ability to perform procedures with minimal supervision or repeats.
Preferred Skills

Prior PET/CT Technologist experience in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Experience with GE Discovery (PET) or GE Starguide (SPECT) equipment is a plus, though training is available.
Four 9-hour shifts per week.
Shift times: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Rotating day off during the week.
No weekends and no on-call requirements.

401k: Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1.
