We are the only biomedical informatics program with advanced doctoral degrees in Texas and the largest and only free‑standing informatics school in the nation.

A postdoctoral position is open to participate in NIH BRAIN Initiative research. The candidate will receive training in data science and artificial intelligence for brain cell data analysis using large language models and agentic AI. Prior knowledge and expertise in these areas are strongly preferred.

Position Summary
A biomedical postdoctoral position provides an opportunity for early‑career researchers to gain valuable experience, develop independent research skills, and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in their field of expertise.

Key Accountabilities

Plan and conduct experiments, analyze data, and prepare publications describing results.

Assist in training and mentoring of lab personnel, including graduate students and other trainees.

Read and evaluate literature.

Possess interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate effectively at all levels.

Have strong written and oral communication skills.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education
Doctoral or terminal degree.

Physical Requirements
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive
This position may be security sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code and Government Code provisions.

Residency Requirement
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
