Job Description

Represent the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life‑defining health decisions.

Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.

Maintain direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens skillfully, safely and accurately.

Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors, focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

May be assigned to a doctor’s office, a patient service center or as business needs dictate.

Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.

Maintain a safe and professional environment.

Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence following established practices and procedures.

Verify patient demographic information, initials and patient signature post‑venipuncture to ensure tubes were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada and Washington).

1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.

2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.

Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Flexible and available for staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.

Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver license and a clean driving record, if applicable.

Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and to cover Patient Service Center/In‑Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.

Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.

Must demonstrate superior customer focus, communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients, accelerate and embrace change and have knowledge of our business.

Customer service in a retail or service environment strongly preferred.

Keyboard/data entry experience.

Floaters travel between multiple sites and are expected to be on time at whichever site they are covering for that day.

Must have a clean driving record; mileage can be submitted between sites and not from home.

Shift/Time Zone: Monday–Friday 6‑3 pm. Travel to Naples sites will be required.

401(k) Plan:

The Synectics Inc. Investment Savings Retirement Plan. Employees 21 years or older may invest in the 401(k) Plan on the first enrollment date that is at least 30 days after employment begins. Enrollment dates are each January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1.

Technical Certification Bonus:

Employees may receive a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification related to the employee’s current position, achieved during employment. Only one certification bonus per calendar year is awarded per employee. Only current, active employees are eligible. The bonus is awarded 90 days after receipt of documentation confirming successful completion of the certification.
