
Ophthalmology - Physician - Manhattan, Huntington and Brooklyn, NY

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking Full‑time Ophthalmologists to join its multi‑specialty practice in Manhattan, Long Island, and Brooklyn. The positions cover three locations: Manhattan (West 57th Street, West 53rd Street, Delancey Street), Long Island (Huntington), and Brooklyn (Brooklyn Heights).
Position Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases and conditions.
Perform necessary surgical procedures, including examinations before and after surgery, and instruct patients on self‑care to improve recovery.
Provide health education and counseling and establish preventive health practices.
Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams and specialty consultations as necessary.
Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care and consult with and refer to appropriate specialists for high‑risk or complex patients.
Foster a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues.
Participate in Quality Improvement (CQI) programs and clinical projects for practice improvement when requested.
Provide case management with other healthcare team members.
Position Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited university.
Ability to obtain a New York license.
Board certification or board‑eligible in Ophthalmology.
Active DEA license and BLS and ACLS certifications.
Demonstrated professional competence, integrity, and ethical conduct of practice.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner, and organizational skills.
Patient‑focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients.
A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team‑oriented, performance‑driven health system.
Strong computer skills and EMR knowledge.
Compensation
Compensation range: $300,000–$400,000 (not including bonuses or incentive compensation or benefits). Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, and other factors.
