Big Horn Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a
Respiratory Therapist
to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team!
Respiratory Therapist(s) with at least 1 year of experience with tracheostomy and ventilator management are required.
Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities
Perform chest examinations on a range of patients from babies through to the elderly
Consult with doctors and other healthcare staff to develop and modify patient treatment plans
Provide detailed therapy, requiring significant independent judgment, such as when caring for patients in intensive care
Perform physical examination and diagnostic tests measuring lung capacity and blood acidity and alkalinity
Treat patients using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, aerosol medications and chest physiotherapy
Connect patients who can’t breathe to a ventilator
Educate patients on how to use equipment and medication
Regularly check on patients and equipment

Respiratory Therapist Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
Associate’s degree with major in Respiratory Therapy
Six months of experience within the last two years or completion of a clinical rotation within the last year in a critical care/intensive care environment, including care of respiratory needs of acutely ill patients
Valid state Respiratory Therapist license (must meet education requirement(s) for state licensure)
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) (must obtain within 3 months of hire)
Certified Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
