
Part-Time Pharmacist

Position Summary
Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for the preparation of compounded sterile products and related activities under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy. The pharmacist will assist in the supervision of IV technicians, interns, and other support personnel.
Responsibilities
Adheres to all policies and procedures
Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique and CAPS Standard Operating Procedures
Ensures pharmacy compliance with rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy and other regulating agencies
Reviews orders and prescriptions for admixing and dispensing
Resolves order discrepancies and problems with customer pharmacy personnel; provides after‑hour on‑call coverage as needed
Participates in CAPS Continuous Quality Improvement Program and performs quality control functions as assigned
Assists in successful pharmacy operation: troubleshooting equipment problems, ordering supplies and maintaining inventory
Maintains positive customer relationships
May supervise IV technicians and interns; reviews work for accuracy while ensuring compliance with CAPS SOPs
Knowledge & Skills
Full working knowledge of relevant business practices and procedures in the professional field
Uses standard theories, principles and concepts and integrates them to propose a course of action
Works under minimal supervision; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals
May periodically assist in orienting, training, and/or reviewing the work of peers
Judgment is required in resolving complex problems based on experience
Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers
Frequent contact with external contractors and vendors
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or PharmD required
One or more years related experience required
Valid pharmacist license in TX required
Completion of ACPE accredited IV certification required
Schedule: 11am‑6pm; the position covers alternating weekends and company holidays.
Salary range is $57.81‑73.25 per hour.
