MEDICAL ASSISTANT - FAMILY PRACTICE ANNA
The Medical Assistant (ANNA TEXAS) is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties. Key responsibilities include assisting providers with patient examinations and treatments, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, performing venipuncture, documenting encounters in the Electronic Medical Record per IPM guidelines, preparing treatment rooms, and assisting with front‑desk duties as needed.
Responsibilities
Assist providers with patient examinations and treatments under physician direction.
Interview patients and collect medical histories.
Measure vital signs and perform venipuncture.
Document encounters in the Electronic Medical Record per IPM guidelines.
Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
Assist with front‑desk duties as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain certification within six (6) months of employment.
Current BLS/CPR certification required.
Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant.
Familiarity with medical terminology required.
Experience with patient check‑in and check‑out process (according to clinic protocol).
General medical office procedures.
Understand end‑of‑day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process (according to clinic protocol).
Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions.
Office equipment proficiency: fax machine, copier, telephone system.
Experience with EKG machine and other patient care testing.
