Title: Health Care Technician I (S)

Job Summary
This position assists in the planning and implementation of quality structured leisure opportunities for Cherry Hospital patients. Under the supervision of the Activities Program Coordinator (APC), it helps ensure meaningful and appropriate activities are planned and provided to patients within the adolescent unit throughout the day, evening, weekends, and holidays. The Activities Program Assistant (APA) supports the APC in campus‑wide patient activities, documents attendance and participation in leisure activities, and assists with unit active‑treatment groups as qualified and assigned.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning and implementing leisure activities for patients.
Ensure that meaningful and appropriate activities are provided to patients in the assigned unit during day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
Document attendance and participation in leisure activities.
Assist with unit active‑treatment groups as qualified and assigned.
Qualifications
High school or General Educational Development diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of principles and practices of leisure participation.
Competency in providing appropriate services that are age‑ and population‑specific for adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions.
Benefits
Salary range: $31,200 – $46,348 (recruitment range: $35,360 – $38,688).
Possibility of a $2,000 sign‑on bonus contingent on budget approval and eligibility criteria.
