Purpose Statement
The Nutrition Services Program Assistant provides administrative support to the Nutrition Services Program, performing various secretarial and program support tasks, maintaining records, coordinating projects, and compiling and distributing materials and reports.
Essential Functions
Under the direction of the Nutrition Services Director, provide comprehensive administrative support by assisting staff, coordinating projects, managing data and records, and performing daily processes to ensure efficient program and site operations. Responsibilities include compiling and maintaining reports and documentation, distributing mail and deliveries, managing inventory, and preparing correspondence and materials. The position also serves as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries, conducts research on assigned topics, and supports compliance with school policies and procedures.

Operating standard office equipment.
Using pertinent software applications.
Preparing and maintaining accurate records.
Knowledge
Basic math, including fractions, percentages, and ratios.
Commonly accepted office application software and machines.
Abilities
Schedule activities, meetings, and events effectively.
Gather, collate, and classify data accurately.
Work flexibly with diverse individuals and handle interruptions.
Maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.
Communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
Responsibility
Work under limited supervision using standardized practices and methods.
Provide information and advice to others.
Monitor budget expenditures.
Utilize resources from other work units as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidate will be able to handle confidential information and will have excellent communication and customer service skills. Personal skills will include a professional friendly, positive, and cooperative work style and the ability to work with many types of people in different circumstances. Previous clerical and customer service experience or experience working in school preferred. Prefer extensive background in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
