8‑hour shifts, Monday‑Friday
Responsibilities
Support research studies focused on understanding molecular mechanisms underlying eye diseases and developing new therapeutic approaches.
Learn and assist in core molecular and cellular biology techniques, including DNA and RNA extraction, PCR and qPCR, Western blotting, and immunocytochemistry.
Maintain and monitor induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines and support the differentiation and use of 3D retinal organoids for disease modeling.
Follow established laboratory protocols with attention to detail and optimize experimental workflows.
Collect, organize, and document data for research reports, publications, and grant applications.
Help maintain research records and databases, support general laboratory organization and upkeep, and assist with training new lab members as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Theoretical knowledge of a life science, typically acquired by a Bachelor’s Degree in biology, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and experience with basic and general molecular biology techniques.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with others.
Ability to prepare solutions at proper concentrations and perform accurate calculations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret protocols and policies.
Experience with personal computers, databases, and spreadsheets.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in general laboratory techniques and molecular techniques including biochemistry, molecular biology, and basic genetics.
Experience measuring, weighing, and mixing chemicals.
Experience with sterile technique for cell culture.
Special Conditions
Must be willing to work in a patient and animal‑related research environment.

Pay Transparency Act
Hourly Equivalent: $28.69 – $34.22. Factors determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
