We’re hiring a
Security Mapping Specialist
to work embedded with the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP), supporting real-time security operations, emergency response, and high-profile national events.

About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington, DC, working directly alongside USCP and other federal agencies. You’ll develop and maintain
operational mapping used for emergency response, major events, and day-to-day security planning
across the Capitol Campus. This role goes beyond traditional drafting—it sits at the intersection of
design, operations, and real-world decision-making , with exposure to high-level coordination and national-scale events.
What You’ll Do
Develop AutoCAD and GIS-based maps supporting emergency response and incident planning
Produce layouts for major events (inaugurations, demonstrations, state events, etc.)
Support rapid updates to mapping during evolving situations
Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency management, and facilities teams
Maintain standardized templates and mapping protocols
Participate in planning meetings and translate feedback into updated visuals
What We’re Looking For
2–6 years of AutoCAD & GIS experience (civil, planning, telecom, or related preferred)
Strong spatial awareness and ability to think operationally
Ability to work under pressure with quick turnaround times
High attention to detail and strong version control discipline
Strong communication and coordination skills
Nice to Have
Experience with site planning, infrastructure layouts, or urban environments
Exposure to emergency management, public safety, or government projects
Familiarity with multi-agency coordination environments
Interest in security, operations, or real-time response
