
Engineer II - Water/Wastewater

Overview
The Engineer II position will contribute to the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of engineering projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. This role applies established engineering principles and practices to a variety of projects under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) while gaining increasing responsibility, technical proficiency, and independence.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, analysis, and design of engineering projects in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and project requirements.
Prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, and design deliverables under the guidance of senior engineers.
Utilize engineering software, drafting tools, and standard office applications to support assigned tasks.
Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
Communicate technical information clearly and effectively through written documents, drawings, and verbal coordination.
Manage assigned tasks to meet established schedules and quality expectations.
Participate in internal meetings and coordination efforts related to assigned projects.
Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and professional standards.
Assist in the planning and design of water distribution, wastewater collection, and related utility infrastructure.
Support hydraulic modeling, system analysis, and preparation of technical reports.
Prepare and track permitting documents and responses for regulatory agencies.
Provide design and construction-phase support, including review of contractor submittals and coordination during construction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification
Minimum of 1 year of relevant engineering experience
Working knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, and applicable codes and standards
Proficiency with common engineering software, drafting/design tools, and standard office applications
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a team environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed
