Repair Tech (2nd Shift)

About the Position
Symbotic is seeking Repair Technicians at all levels to execute repair functions for Symbotic systems and subassemblies, following the guidelines outlined in the Operations Method Sheets (OMS). Working with limited supervision, technicians will ensure the quality and efficiency of the repair process, promptly report any material or process discrepancies that could impact performance, and collaborate with the Service Center of Excellence.

Responsibilities

Review assembly instructions, including OMS, Sequence of Events, assembly drawings, and parts lists. Gather all necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials to prepare for tasks.

Position BOT parts and subassemblies accurately using templates, fixtures, or by reading precise measurements. Assemble components by examining connections to ensure proper fit and secure fastening.

Conduct inspections on Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), including automated robotic vehicles and Automated Adapters/Lifts. Lead continuous operation by adjusting, calibrating, repairing, replacing, or modifying system components as needed.

Diagnose and troubleshoot anomalies and stoppages in automated robotic vehicles using schematic and wiring diagrams, as well as advanced test equipment.

Perform regular system inspections within specified timeframes, thoroughly documenting all actions, repairs, parts used, and labor.

Effectively communicate production-impacting issues, propose solutions, and provide time estimates for corrective and emergency maintenance to necessary team members.

Recover automated robotic vehicles within the Symbotic Matrix select system, including operating in restrictive environments.

Perform minor utility tasks such as machining holes, cutting steel, aligning sensors, and attaching Unistrut as required.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations. Engage in continuous cleaning and adhere to 5S policies.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent plus minimum of 2 years of experience in a Machine Shop or Manufacturing Assembly Environment.

Experience in repair, maintenance, or a related field; automotive experience preferred.

Ability to understand and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.

Experience with robotic or automotive troubleshooting (programming experience a plus) with strong electro‑mechanical skills preferred.

Strong organizational skills, self‑starter, ability to manage multiple tasks.

Understanding of diverse types of mechanical and/or electrical test equipment.

Eagerness to learn, absorb, and utilize information in a demanding environment.

Available for 2nd shift.

Work Environment

Steep stairs and frequent walking up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.

Regular proximity to high railings.

Exposure to varying weather conditions with temperatures ranging from 32° to 105° Fahrenheit.

Use of PPE such as hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, and fall protection at times.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 80 lbs repeatedly.

Stand/walk for up to 10–12 hours and frequently reach with hands and arms.

Work at heights up to 45 ft and within restrictive areas of 24 inches; ability to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.

Compliance with all safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and fall protection protocols.

Benefits
The base range for this position in the posted location is $20.19 – $28.03. Compensation includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO, and other benefits.
