Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist – Setup, Operate, Program at the Machine (G & M Code)
Shift:
1st Shift | Monday–Friday | Full-Time, On-Site
Pay Range:
$35–$50/hr (flexible for the right skill set)
About the Role
We’re hiring a skilled
CNC Lathe Machinist
to join a busy, growing shop in Beacon Falls, CT. This is a hands-on role for someone who can set up, run, and program/edit at the machine using G & M codes. You’ll take ownership of your work from setup through inspection, support smooth production flow, and consistently hit quality targets.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC lathes (workholding, tooling, offsets, and prove-outs)
Program and edit at the machine using G & M code to meet print/spec requirements
Perform changeovers, dial in first articles, and make real-time adjustments as needed
Troubleshoot issues related to tooling, offsets, feeds/speeds, and part quality
Quality & Documentation
Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings
Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, etc.)
Maintain accurate work order documentation and follow production schedules
Ensure parts meet customer requirements for accuracy, finish, and consistency
Team & Shop Support
Communicate with supervisors and team members to keep jobs moving
Support continuous improvement through process feedback and best practices
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area (5S mindset)
Requirements
5+ years of CNC machining experience focused on CNC lathes
Strong blueprint reading skills; GD&T is a plus
Comfortable programming/editing G & M code at the machine
Solid understanding of tooling, inserts, workholding, offsets, and setup strategy
High attention to detail, quality-driven, dependable, and safety-minded
High school diploma or equivalent required
