
CLINICAL ASSISTANT, CT SCAN

Position Summary
Assists the technologist in a variety of radiological procedures. Assists the technologist by transporting patients as needed and performing clerical duties. Assists the Floor Supervisor, Chief Technologist or designee by completing exams on the Radiology Information System (RIS). Assists with verifying exams in PACS so the images are ready for dictation. Assists with obtaining patient information for filling out worksheets, ordering lab work or other clerical duties as required.
Location and Schedule
Location: Main Campus
Schedule: Full time, 7 on/7 off, M‑F 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Sat/Sun 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of personnel at all levels within and external to the organization.
Ability to communicate clearly with and care for a diverse population of patients and family units of all ages and cultures.
Flexible in work schedule, assignments and workload.
Ability to document various types of patient information.
Ability to interpret the policies and procedures of South Georgia Medical Center.
Minimal clerical skills are desirable.
Ability to read and operate office equipment.
Working Conditions
Duties require considerable sitting, standing, stooping, bending, lifting (in excess of 50 pounds), and pushing objects such as wheelchairs and stretchers. Conditions include irregular schedules, including weekends, high stress levels, and potential exposure to communicable diseases.
