Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments on arrival, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms
Triage patients to prioritize care based on acuity and ensure critical cases are attended promptly
Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments per physician orders; perform emergency procedures as needed
Monitor patient status continuously, adjust interventions, and respond to changes in condition
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff; document care in electronic health records or charts
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, procedures, and follow‑up care; uphold patient advocacy and infection control standards
Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred
Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations: Current RN license in the State of Oregon; ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC required; CRASE training required if travel assignment extends beyond 6 months
Experience: None required; prior clinical ER experience is desirable
Skills: Strong clinical skills and critical thinking; excellent communication and teamwork; ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced ED
Physical/Work Requirements: Ability to perform essential tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds; continuous standing/walking; ability to work long 12‑hour shifts
