Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the emergency department, including initial assessment, triage, and ongoing monitoring.

Administer medications, establish IV access, and manage high-acuity treatment according to ER protocols.

Perform procedures within scope and assist physicians and the ED team as needed.

Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and ensure timely communication with receiving units.

Monitor patient status, respond to rapid changes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure patient safety and appropriate disposition (discharge, admission, or transfer).

Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and follow-up instructions as appropriate.

Requirements

Active RN license in New York (or eligibility as applicable).

ACLS and BLS required; PALS certification required.

ER nursing experience required.

Ability to work 3x12 night shifts in a fast‑paced ED.

Strong communication, critical‑thinking, and teamwork skills.

Ability to perform in a hospital setting and follow established ED protocols.
