PCOM South Georgia is seeking a clinical educator (FM, IM, GS, EM, Peds, OB/GYN) with the expectation of teaching lectures and skills laboratory sessions. You should be detail focused and exhibit excellent follow-through, follow-up, and thoroughness of projects and tasks. Under the direction of the chair of clinical sciences, you will participate in the clinical education of medical students, off-campus residency programs, and clinical lectures with an online system as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and deliver "Patient Care Skills" course and simulation exercises.

Perform student assessment and feedback

Develop active learning sessions as needed for integration of clinical content.

Create and deliver lectures in various courses as requested by the Chair of Clinical Sciences with assigned clinical medicine topics using primary source information.

Collaborate with faculty on the development and review of test questions, curriculums, learning objectives and lecture deliveries

Develop interprofessional education programming and clinical reasoning in basic science cases.

Participate in outcome analyses for the medical school curriculum.

May conduct clinical lectures with off-campus residency programs

May conduct clinical lectures with an online system as needed Participation on various Committees as designated and assigned.

Serve as a student mentor/advisor in career planning, study skills development, and board examination preparation.

Collaborate with Assistant/Associate Dean of Clinical Education regarding clinical clerkship opportunities.

Other duties as assigned.

SPECIALIZED RESPONSIBILITIES

For D.O. licensed physicians: Understanding of Osteopathic Principles and Practice in medicine; Assist full-time OMM faculty as adjunct OMM table trainers (D.O. candidates) as needs arise.

For M.D. licensed physicians: Work with the Chair of OPP to understand the Osteopathic approach to patient care as it is utilized in Osteopathic Medical Education.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in a related field required

Board certification in the candidate's field

Active medical license in good standing

A minimum of five (5) years of recent and related clinical experience.

Experience in classroom teaching and working with osteopathic medical students in a clinical setting.

Experience with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and Learning Management Systems such as BlackBoard.

Experience with video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet, Zoom, and BlackBoard Collaborate.
