We are Looking for:
Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.

Responsibilities

Rooming the patient

Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.

Must be proficient in taking manual blood pressure readings.

Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.

Prepares patient charts a week in advance.

Scanning documents to the appropriate patient charts.

Make sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.

Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications.

Ensures that the physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.

Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care and/or procedures.

Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation

Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.

Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.

Obtains authorization before sending any orders when needed.

Main fax line– Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)

Performs related duties as required.

Requirements

Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or a graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program

Must be bilingual in English and Spanish

Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
