Job Summary
As an integral member of a multi‑disciplinary team, the Early Childhood Specialist provides expert, quality, and transparent prevention and education mental health services to meet the needs of Diversus Health clients. Clinical work may include but is not limited to skills‑based education, group skills, and providing crisis de‑escalation/stabilization as needed. Renders services to clients and/or their families in various settings, to include but not limited to outpatient, home or community‑based environments.
This is a PART‑TIME position.
Essential Functions – Clinical Care
Facilitates multiple school‑based and clinic‑based groups for pre‑K to school‑aged children. Requires travel to various schools contracted with.
Attend coaching sessions with Incredible Years Coach and ensure meeting all fidelity measures of implementing program.
Coordinates with school personnel through email, phone calls and in‑person meetings for successful implementation of Incredible Years Program to fidelity.
Communicates barriers to implementation to Incredible Years leadership team in a timely manner for successful fidelity of programming.
Develops safety plans that balance risk assessment with client strengths, support systems, and supervisor feedback as needed. Completes all crisis‑related documentation in clear, comprehensive, and timely fashion.
Ensures all clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner and meets quality standards, in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Demonstrates multicultural awareness and sensitivity to client treatment preferences.
The environment at Diversus Health is fluid. Roles and responsibilities may be altered to accommodate changing business conditions and objectives. Employees may be asked to perform duties that are outside the specific work that is listed. This position may require you to work standard hours, as well as flexible hours before and after standard hours, and overtime in excess of 40 hours in a work week.
Qualifications
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or Counseling field.
Work with a passionate team that strives to make a difference with the early childhood population and focused on Prevention Services.
Must have sufficient language skills and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately and professionally implement and document the services provided to clients.
Must possess basic computer skills and type 25+ w.p.m. for the input and output of client information, using electronic health record.
Work in the clinical and school settings, co‑facilitating social emotional prevention education Incredible Years groups for Preschool to Kindergarten aged children.
Must be able to perform and understand active listening, ethical conduct, social perception, service orientation, complex problem solving, writing, monitoring, judgment and decision‑making skills.
Demonstrates strong classroom management in both school and clinical/center‑based settings (for pre‑K and Kindergarten).
Comfort, Playfulness and Enjoyment in using puppets in facilitating a social emotional skill building program.
Participation in peer coaching (live observations of facilitation, and possible recording of facilitation).
Ability to follow a high‑fidelity program, completing necessary fidelity components (lesson plans, video reviews, role plays).
