Major Duties

Serves within DLA Information Operations J6, Program Executive Office J62, and Enterprise Service Area Portfolio Management.

Serves as a Senior Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Application Administrator supporting Windows, Linux and/or Unix-based client/server or web am2lications and acts as a member of a support team.

Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining COTS software applications.

Participates in a variety of system engineering assignments to include s stem design product development and infrastructure Support.

Analyzes impact of new requirements on area of responsibility and related areas.

Establish and maintain communications with appropriate staff within DLA and DLA Information Operations ensuring knowledge transfer to advance and sustain mission requirements.

Qualification Summary

To qualify for An IT Specialist (APPSW), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Applies application administration concepts and techniques and methods for integrating and optimizing components and applications in order to provide technical guidance in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining programs. - Translating and interpreting functional requirements, testing, installing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining software. - Applying IT security principles and methods, IT security products and services to evaluate, recommend the acquisition of, implement, and disseminate IT security tools, procedures and practices to protect information assets. - Development of scripts and applications in various programming languages or operating systems. - Common usage of Windows, Linux, and/or Unix operating systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Compensation:
$89,508-$133,142 per year
