Position
Clinical Nurse – Resource

Location
Various locations across IU Health facilities, including Level 1 trauma centers, suburban settings, and critical access centers.

Description
The Clinical Nurse Resource is a vital member of the IU Health float pool, embodying the mission, vision, and values of IU Health. The role requires provision and coordination of competent, evidence‑based care across the continuum—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—while actively participating in clinical decision‑making, teaching, mentoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The position needs system‑wide flexibility and clinical versatility to provide coverage across a wide range of inpatient settings, including medical‑surgical, progressive care, critical care, emergency, and specialty units. The role includes floating seamlessly between multiple IU Health facilities to expand clinical expertise and support care delivery across the system.

Qualifications

Associate of Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred, and required for new hires or promotions after October 1, 2025.

Active Registered Nurse license in Indiana or active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.

Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program; 2 years of experience preferred.

Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.

Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty.

Highly adaptable, confident, and skilled in managing change.

Experience in multiple specialties or eagerness to broaden clinical scope.

Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
