Cottonwood Springs is a behavioral health hospital located in Olathe, KS, part of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. We provide inpatient and outpatient programming for those facing mental health and addiction challenges. Our programs offer caring, compassionate treatment for adults (18+) and include inpatient mental health and addiction treatment and detox, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Our BH is a very fast-paced yet fun environment with endless opportunities to learn and grow!
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a dynamic Therapist in Social Work, Psychology or Married and Family Therapist (MFT) who is passionate about helping others and is a team player! This position is responsible for supporting the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence.
Reports to : Director of Clinical Services
What Will You Do In This Role
Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems
Display active involvement in treatment planning process
Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups
Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources
Demonstrate proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment
Work well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members
Demonstrate active communication with team members
Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues
Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner
Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
Act as a member of team with crisis situations, assisting others to ensure patient safety
Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills
Assist care coordination department as requested
Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards
Display a thorough knowledge of confidentiality
Complete releases appropriately
Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abides by those standards
Demonstrate a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws
Display active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment processes
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Master's degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure required.
Accepting Psychologist with a master's degree in psychology
Accepting Married and Family Therapist (MFT) Master's degree with License
Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines.
Additional Requirements
CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.
