About the Complex Care Center
The Complex Care Center (CCC) provides comprehensive primary care for children with complex chronic medical conditions at our Burnet and Liberty campuses. Patients often have multiple diagnoses, may be technology‑dependent requiring support such as home ventilation or tube feedings. We care from birth through adolescence.

Main Campus – Burnet
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Liberty Campus
Monday & Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Role Overview
The Registered Nurse II in the Complex Care Center delivers high‑quality, patient‑ and family‑centered care to a medically complex pediatric population in a non‑acute, ambulatory setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, care coordination expertise, and the ability to manage patients with multi‑system conditions and medical technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients with complex, chronic conditions.

Perform clinical assessments, triage, and care coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Support patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, G‑tubes, and other medical technologies.

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease management and home‑care needs.

Collaborate with providers and specialists to ensure continuity of care.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence‑based practice.

Perform office duties, including paperwork and form completion, and phone triage.

Demonstrate consistent use of the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) and advocate for patient and family‑centered outcomes.

Maintain regulatory compliance and safety standards, ensuring certifications are up‑to‑date.

Integrate age‑specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care.

Apply systems thinking to navigate and improve care coordination processes.

Advocate for patients and families, promoting self‑management and shared decision‑making.

Preferred Experience

Recent inpatient critical care experience.

Experience in areas such as Complex Airway, Transitional Care Center, and Emergency Department.

Ambulatory clinic experience with similar patient populations, including tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tube management, and medically complex conditions.

Job Qualifications

BSN from a ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA accredited institution or MSN.

Five or more years of related experience.

Active Ohio RN license; may be required to obtain other state licensure.

Active certification; some require specialty certification.

Strong background in managing medically complex pediatric or similar patient populations.
