Description

St. Joseph’s Health Surgical Services Department records more than 11,000 surgeries annually in our state‑of‑art operating rooms providing a full range of surgical services, offering care for ambulatory, elective, and critically ill patients. The Registered Nurse is responsible for monitoring patients as they recover from anesthesia, ensuring their safety, comfort, and stabilization before discharge or transfer to an inpatient unit.
What you will do

Provide immediate post‑anesthesia care, monitoring patients’ vital signs, airway, and level of consciousness. Assess for and manage pain, nausea, and other post‑operative symptoms.
Recognize and respond to anesthesia‑related complications and emergencies.
Educate patients and families on post‑operative care, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills along with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond quickly to changing patient conditions.
Minimum Qualifications

Education : Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduate preferred.
Licensure : Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in New York.
Certification : BLS/CPR. CPAN or CCN certification a plus.
Experience : Minimum of 1‑2 years’ experience in PACU, ICU or Critical Care Nursing.
Pay Range

Hourly salary: $26.85‑34.68, based on experience, skills, and education. Pay range may vary within the stated range based on location. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) are paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
