Patient Services Rep - Ponca Primary Care - Days

INTEGRIS Health Medical Group Ponca City, Oklahoma’s largest not-for-profit health system is looking for a Patient Services Representative. The role works Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, providing exceptional care to patients and supporting staff.
Key responsibilities include answering telephone calls, taking concise messages, managing patient demographics, handling insurance verifications, scheduling appointments, collecting payments and supporting the front desk workflow. The position requires a high volume of phone calls and patient interaction, the ability to multitask in a high‑stress environment, and may involve driving.
Responsibilities

Receive and dispatch incoming phone calls.
Collect payments for copays and deductibles, and make financial arrangements for patients.
Perform check‑in and check‑out duties accurately and timely.
Schedule visits and inform a clinical employee or provider in emergencies.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, record the information in the medical record and complete referrals to specialty providers, home health, etc.
Accurately enter patient demographics into the practice management system.
Take messages, correctly spelling names and identifying patients by two identifiers.
Direct messages from pharmacies, physicians, and hospital personnel to the appropriate clinical employee or provider.
Manage large call volume while maintaining excellent telephone etiquette.
Organize workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner.
Report to the Office Manager/Supervisor.
Required qualifications

6 months of customer service experience.
Population-specific competencies per National Patient Safety Goals.
Current Oklahoma State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record (if required to operate or drive a vehicle).
Preferred qualifications

1 year of clerical experience.
Experience in cashier procedures or basic accounting, clinic check‑in/out procedures, basic health insurance terminology, HMO, PPO and basic medical terminology.
Experience with CPT and ICD‑9 coding.
6 months of telephone customer service experience.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions

The position may involve high volume telephone calls and patient interactions, multiple tasks, high‑stress environment, and sometimes driving.
