The Senior Trade Planning Analyst is responsible for developing, analyzing, and optimizing trade promotion strategies to drive profitable growth. This role partners cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and Brand to ensure trade investments are planned effectively, executed efficiently, and evaluated rigorously. The analyst plays a key role in improving trade ROI, forecasting accuracy, and decision-making through data-driven insights.

What You Do.
Strategic Trade Planning & Business Management
Lead the analysis of customer sales and business plans to identify gaps, opportunities, and risks while quantifying financial and profitability impacts
Actively consult with cross‑functional teams (Sales, Finance, Demand Planning, Customer Support, Analytics) to develop holistic, data‑driven recommendations
Provide clear insights, recommendations, and next steps to Sales Managers, Directors, and VP‑Sales
Lead the implementation of approved changes to customer business plans within the Trade Management System
Clearly communicate changes in tactics, assumptions, and downstream implications
Consult on the application of trade plan adjustments across other customer teams
Trade Promotion Management & Systems Leadership
Serve as the subject matter expert for trade processes and Trade Promotion Management (TPM) systems
Manage and guide Broker Agency Financial Managers in the execution of strategic initiatives within the TPM system
Consult on enhancements, upgrades, and best practices for trade planning tools and systems
Lead training for Field Sales Managers and Broker Agency partners on trade processes, systems, and governance
Promotional, Pricing & Competitive Analytics
Analyze and report on:
Customer pricing strategies and execution
Promotional and merchandising effectiveness
Competitive dynamics and implications
Maintain deep knowledge of customer promotion policies, tendencies, and constraints
Utilize post‑promotion analysis and other analytic tools to evaluate promotion lift, baseline impact, and ROI
Apply customer segmentation and PNOC (Profit Net of Costs) principles when evaluating customer profitability and volumetric impact
Financial Management, Budget Oversight & Controls
Lead customer‑level trade budget planning, monitoring, and analysis
Analyze weekly scorecards to identify opportunities for optimization or course correction
Lead and manage the trade and slotting exception process, acting as process owner and expert
Coordinate and oversee deductions resolution and monitor timely closing and settlement of trade events
Lead cross‑functional reconciliation of customer order pricing against approved offers in collaboration with Customer Support and Demand Planning
Your Education And Experience.
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of related experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office required
Syndicated data experience required: Circana/IRI or Nielsen
CPG experience preferred
