The Role
Defines, designs and implements continuous improvement programs to ensure programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across the organization. Defines improvement projects aligned with business strategies. Analyzes improvement programs and potential results. Facilitates and coaches improvement teams. Establishes and maintains performance metrics to measure program success. Installs process excellence supports for program governance, project reviews, communications, training, certifications and rewards. May have six‑sigma certification.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 8 years of relevant professional experience.
Associate's Degree or other formal 2‑year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non‑exempt experience
Military Paygrade E‑5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non‑exempt experience

Core Facilitation Skills
Planning and preparing events
Aligning team goals with organizational strategy
Employing facilitation best practices
Utilizing methodologies such as Process Mapping, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis
Proficiency in Lean tools and DMAIC for structured problem‑solving
Experience with Kaizen events (blitzes) to identify and implement real‑time improvements
Preferred Industry Experience
Working with craftsmen and deckplate leadership teams
Collaboration with value stream teams and leadership
Project Management & Communication
Project management skills to coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables for improvement initiatives
Strong communication skills to foster alignment and secure leadership support
