Position Details
Position Title: Administrative Specialist I
Division/College: College of Agricultural & Life Sciences
Department: Central District
Location: Twin Falls
Posting Context Statement: Provides comprehensive administrative support including records management, data entry, document creation, proofreading, mail handling, and cash handling. Greets and assists visitors, callers, and email inquiries. Manages filing, office equipment, and computer files. Supports faculty communications, meeting logistics, finance tasks, and invoice processing. Delivers customer service, coordinates groups, organizes tasks, and uses office software to meet deadlines.
Position Overview: Assist with administrative tasks including preparing correspondence, maintaining records, maintaining calendars, monitoring office inventory, ordering supplies when necessary and completing various assignments as needed. This position may be the first point of contact for the department, and is tasked with ensuring that information flows accurately, efficiently and effectively while maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Duties may include: Manage records and documents; Perform general administrative support tasks such as proofreading and receiving and distributing mail; may handle cash; Greet visitors, callers and/or email inquiries, determining nature and purpose and directing them to specific destinations/individuals/information; Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications
Required Experience: Organizing tasks to meet deadlines; Participating in teams to accomplish shared goals; Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, and internet searches
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other: Ability to work non-standard business hours occasionally
Additional Preferred: One year of experience in office support functions, including document preparation, filing, receptionist duties, and data compilation, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects; Ability to work effectively and complete assignments with minimal supervision; Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently in a flexible environment; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 20 pounds
Degree Requirement: Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire
