is seeking a senior-level transportation project manager to lead civil engineering and transportation projects within the Southwest Mountain District (Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico). The role involves overseeing design, construction, and business development for traditional transportation projects such as freeway design/build, municipal sidewalks, and roadway rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead project delivery and manage project teams, ensuring adherence to project management and quality control plans.
Oversee financial performance, risk management, and contractual negotiations.
Provide technical leadership on route design, grading, drainage, pavement, and infrastructure safety.
Manage design reviews, procurement, construction monitoring, and final handover to owners.
Develop and maintain client relationships, participate in business development, and lead project proposals.
Represent WSP at industry events, maintain professional memberships, and maintain knowledge of engineering best practices.
Additional Responsibilities
Collect and analyze site data including GIS, surveys, and subsurface utility information.
Apply civil engineering principles to conceptual and pre‑final designs.
Review and approve construction plans, specs, phasing, and safety plans.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, permits, and quality standards.
Supervise subcontractors and institutionalize QA/QC processes.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for project stakeholders.
Implement advanced technologies and innovative solutions to improve infrastructure performance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years of post‑education experience in transportation engineering and civil design.
Engineer license required; multi‑state preferred.
Proficiency in civil engineering principles, design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads).
Strong knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, regulations, and record‑keeping.
Excellent technical writing, project management, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated track record of safety compliance and leadership.
Experience facilitating client engagements and business development activities.
Willingness to travel as needed (including overnight stays).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering.
