Security Officer
Perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property. Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and associates.
Essential Functions:
Ensure Officers are conducting patrols in their designated zones as assigned by the daily shift plan. Record all patrols and any discrepancies found. Alert other departments via HotSOS regarding any guest requests or issues to be repaired.
Monitor HotSOS and dispatch Officers in a timely manner for all calls.
Maintain order in the hotel, dealing with the welfare of guests, dispatch for door lock and room safe problems, coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, fire or safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner. Handle undesired conduct, violations of hotel policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of hotel guests, associates, patrons and property.
Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls and respond in a timely manner based on priority. Relate relevant information on house count, conventions, arrivals and departures from each shift.
Memorize and monitor life safety system including accurate layout of entire building, locations of fire extinguishers, complete alarm reports and checks and report any pertinent information from each shift.
Observe monitors for any unusual activity and in the case of suspicious behavior report directly, via radio, to the supervisor on duty; report any alarms similarly.
Administer CPR and First Aid.
Assist in the completion of incident and injury reports.
Monitor and properly answer the Associate Gate and Spa Gate.
Record all events, lost and found, and report in MS-Shift with proper descriptions.
Other:
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral Miami from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the industry, that we are in a need will occur for each associate to provide "Lateral Service". Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.
Supportive Functions:
Provide accurate information to inquirers for directions and hours of operations.
Receive, record and secure found property. Research and respond to guests inquiries for lost property.
Assist guests with door lock and in room safe problems using moderately complex hand held electronic apparatus.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
Thorough knowledge of the floor plans and layout of the building(s), function rooms, and working knowledge of the City and surrounding area.
Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
Ability to communicate orally and verbally in English with staff and outside entities. Certain positions will require the ability to read and write in English as well.
Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift.
Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property.
Ability to follow written and or verbal instructions.
Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing up to 50 lbs. sufficient manual dexterity in hands.
Ability to climb stairs at a rapid pace.
Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.

Qualification Standards:
Education: High School Diploma.
Experience: Prior security experience in an upscale resort preferred.
Licenses or Certificates: Security D License preferred. CPR/AED/First Aid Certification preferred.
Grooming: All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
Other: Additional language ability preferred.
