
911 Emergency Communications Operator
Fannin County, New York, NY, United States
As a 911 Operator, you will use a Computer‑Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to answer emergency and non‑emergency calls, determine the nature and location of incidents, and dispatch appropriate police, fire, medical, or other emergency units. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of both the public and first responders.
Key Responsibilities
Receive and screen incoming 911 and non‑emergency calls from the public and partner agencies.
Prioritize calls based on urgency and established procedures.
Dispatch the appropriate police, fire, EMS, or other emergency personnel.
Ask critical questions and provide pre‑arrival instructions to callers.
Communicate with officers and emergency responders regarding hazards, threats, and situational updates.
Monitor and operate countywide radio systems for fire, EMS, law enforcement, and municipal agencies.
Access, retrieve, and monitor data using GCIC/NCIC databases in compliance with all regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
At least 18 years of age.
U.S. citizen (native‑born, repatriated, or naturalized).
Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Georgia Telecommunications License.
Willingness to obtain additional certifications as required.

Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Medical Physical/Drug Screen/Credit Check/Polygraph Test/Background Investigation/Psychological Examination and MVR.
