Salary Range: You`ll earn between $73,600 - $110,400 annually, depending on experience.

Short Version
The Distribution Center (DC) Shift Manager is responsible for executing strategic building objectives and overseeing the tactical execution of daily and weekly operations. They manage all aspects of their assigned shift, including planning, organizing, and monitoring receiving, storage, and shipping activities to ensure smooth and consistent operations. The Shift Manager hires, manages, and motivates the assigned staff in the Distribution Center.

Responsibilities

Maximize customer experience through coordination of processes and operations across the DC.

Monitor the quality, quantity, and efficiency of product movement, including labor planning and balancing.

Ensure accurate and timely shipping from the DC to proper transportation channels.

Conduct annual performance reviews and provide day‑to‑day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions), ensuring effective collaboration across all functions.

Study and standardize procedures to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

1‑3 years of experience building and maintaining cross‑functional working relationships.

1‑3 years of supervisory experience.

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Ability to manage difficult employee situations professionally.

Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to change.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Self‑directed and motivated.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Builds strong, positive rapport with associates; leads by example, communicating integrity, core values, and consistency in decision‑making.

Maintains confidentiality and discretion.

Excellent organization skills; can multi‑task and prioritize daily responsibilities.

Physical Requirements
The employee must stand, walk, talk, and hear while performing job duties. They frequently lift or move up to 60 pounds and operate powered equipment that requires use of both hands, full range of motion of the neck, head, and back, and repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions. Requirements also include climbing stairs, kneeling/squatting, bending, and carrying. Vision requirements include close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may need to wear a headset covering one or both ears and personal protective equipment such as a protective harness while operating equipment. Basic English literacy is required. Work environment is moderately noisy, and employees are occasionally exposed to conveyor systems, dust, and changing weather conditions. Potential hazards include machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks. The environment is fast‑paced and may involve exposure to ambient lighting, extreme heat, and extreme cold.
