Responsibilities
Prepare patients for radiological procedures, communicate the process to the patient and take x‑rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
Use and maintain a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
Evaluate and ensure equipment is in working order, reporting all malfunctions or concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
Process and enter radiological procedure information into the electronic health record as soon as completed and provide additional reports and information as needed.
Evaluate and maintain examination rooms to ensure rooms are clean and stocked, including ensuring necessary medical and radiological supplies are filled; sterilize and clean room and equipment as required by standard procedures.
Place a high priority on and maintain strict confidentiality in all situations.
Participate in professional development activities and maintain applicable professional affiliations and certifications as required.
Attend and participate in required organizational meetings and committees as requested.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Completion of a course in Radiological Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT). Must maintain certification with the AART and hold an active Indiana State license.
