Founded in 1950, Central Indiana Orthopedics (CIO) is a premier, independent orthopedic practice in central Indiana that delivers compassionate and expert care to patients with bone, joint and muscle injuries and conditions. Responsibilities
This position is responsible for processing referrals from multiple digital sources including Insurance companies, direct websites and fax referrals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process assigned electronic referrals within the same day; referral tracking and follow‑up
Assist patients with scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments for all physicians
Maintain patient information and data integrity in the systems
Communicate with clinical teams and providers as necessary regarding appropriate patient scheduling
Attends all required staff and educational meetings
This position is also responsible for assisting with incoming call overflow, on an as needed basis

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience
1-3 years of experience in a call center
Experience with NextGen preferred
Written and Oral Communication
Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills; may communicate with others in functional areas within the organization and various levels outside the organization.
Knowledge
In‑depth knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures with ability to use in varied situations. Have technical proficiency in Health insurance, and an ability to interpret and explain coverage details.
Collaboration/Service Orientation
Has frequent contact with others outside of workgroup, both inside and outside the organization. Results have major implications on the management and operations of an area within a department.
Decision Making
Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
Problem Solving
Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
Independence of Action
Work progress is monitored by manager. Follows precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines established by manager who is available to resolve problems.
