Overview

C.N.A.s working at the Continuing Care Center receive generous shift differentials, in addition to their base pay rate. Salary range: $22.05 - $27.90 per hour. The pay range represents the lowest and highest rate possible; placement within the range depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to others in the role. PRN pay is calculated differently than full-time, regular part-time, and part-time positions, and depends on position, experience, and shift commitment according to department policy.

Responsibilities

Assist with resident/patient care needs and comforts, including but not limited to oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, nail care, shaving, hair care, and turning/positioning.
Assist with lifting and transporting residents; change beds and keep residents dry and comfortable.
Assist with bowel/bladder functions; monitor and document intake and output; observe and report changes in resident/patient condition to nurses.
Perform nursing tasks as directed: measure and record vital signs; weigh and measure residents; collect specimens; administer or prepare enemas; provide indwelling catheter care; perform diabetic urine testing.
Turn bedfast residents at least every two hours; provide daily range of motion exercises; assist with care of dying residents.
Maintain care area neat, sanitary, and orderly; participate in food service tasks as assigned; assist with meals and feeding as needed; record food/fluid intake and changes in eating habits.
Record and charge for supplies accurately; rotate to support areas as needed.
Float to OVCH Acute Care Facility four times per year as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Six months of CNA experience performing nursing/patient care duties in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility.
