DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will carry out skilled work in at least two trades-such as roofing, sheet metal, carpentry, electrical, or plumbing-while also handling general maintenance responsibilities. You will serve as a lead worker, offering direction and oversight to staff in lower classifications. Your duties will include:
- Performing carpentry work, including building, constructing, and repairing wood and structural materials.
- Installing, repairing, and refinishing flooring to maintain safety and appearance.
- Preparing surfaces and applying paint or varnish for general painting tasks.
- Fabricating and repairing metal products, including sheet metal work.
- Repairing and installing roofing systems, including drains and related components.
- Performing electrical work, including repairing or replacing switches, receptacles, wiring, and circuits.
- Carrying out plumbing tasks such as clearing drains, repairing or replacing fixtures, and maintaining water and heating systems.
- Performing welding on steam lines and other metal components.
Additionally, you will maintain clean and orderly work areas, ensuring they are ready for final cleaning or use. The role requires working in environmentally challenging conditions, including the use of respirators, and may involve training related to lead, asbestos, or similar safety areas to ensure compliance with regulations and facility needs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime: As needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
