Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Reports To
Occupational Therapist / Director of Rehabilitation
Job Summary
Provides OT services under supervision of a licensed OT. Assists patients in regaining daily living and independence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Carry out OT treatment plans.
Instruct patients in adaptive equipment and self-care.
Document services and report progress to OT.
Collaborate with therapy and nursing staff.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree from an accredited OTA program (or equivalent in Occupational Therapy).
Current state license to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Previous experience in occupational therapy or rehabilitation (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- KSAs
Knowledge of OT activities.
Ability to follow OT instructions.
Strong communication skills.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Lifting, standing, walking, bending.
Healthcare and LTC facility environment.
