Summary
Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Selects products for tests and tests products for variety of qualities such as gradations, specification, density, performance and/or chemical characteristics.
Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Sets up and performs tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.
Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
Self‑motivated and responsible person willing and able to work alone or in a group setting.
Ability to deal with people in a professional manner.
Ability to perform and understand necessary tests to ensure products remaining within state and federal regulations and requirements.
Ability to report all problem situations to proper supervisions.
A current driver’s license is mandatory.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KDOT certified; willing to become TDOT and INDOT certified.
Ability to read and understand stone ledge formations and the ledge numbering system.
Computer literacy from either formal education or experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Willing and able to achieve necessary certification in all required states.
Physical Demands
Employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear; sit; stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl.
Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Vision: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Noise level is usually moderate.
