Job Description
Responsible for all activities associated with running the folder gluer, including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Accurate and efficient set‑up of all folding and gluing operations of the machine in accordance with proper setup techniques.
Minimize waste of sheet stock and glue.
Properly operate machine to run efficiently and produce quality products.
Ensure diagonal and corrugator scores are broken when necessary.
Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
Assist in training all Post job positions.
Learn to run a variety of box styles.
Check the quality of boxes during the run, including mis‑slotted boxes, loose liner, misprints, and any other defects.
Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to production data, machine operational status, safety data, and quality data.
Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs; be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
Adhere to the production schedule. Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals. Report any unusual scheduling issues to the Supervisor.
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
Additional duties may be assigned by management.
Qualifications
Must be able to learn and assist in mechanical set‑up.
Must be able to help troubleshoot problems and assist in necessary repairs.
Must have a working knowledge of the following:
Current production software
Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation
Product layouts and production specifications
Product quality specifications
Quality standards
Required Skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
Intermediate computer skills
Strong math/algebra skills
Problem solving and critical thinking
Educational & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred candidates who offer the following:
Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
6 months experience in the Press and Finishing Department.
6 months experience operating a Folder Gluer.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit.
Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work space is not climate controlled and can reach both hot and cold extremes (30 degrees – 110 degrees Fahrenheit).

Performance Measurements
Operating standards - the employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards in the areas of quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction and productivity. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the employee.
