Job Summary
Position is responsible for performing work and maintenance for cars, trucks, construction equipment, and works under Shop Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None
Duties/Responsibilities
Collect information on vehicle and equipment history, problem with the vehicle, and/or known maintenance or repairs required.
Identifies mechanical problems visually and/or with computer diagnostic equipment.
Performs tests on specific parts and systems to determine whether they are operating properly.
Examines critical parts and systems using standard checklists.
Plans repairs and timetables for completion; provides Shop Manager with time and cost estimates. Order parts as determined.
Performs routine and preventative maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups.
Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
Conducts post-repair and diagnostics and confirms that repairs have been made properly, and that problems have been resolved.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Knowledge Of Position (Prior To Entry)
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle, construction equipment, and small engine maintenance and repairs.
Proficient with related computer diagnostic equipment and software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
Ability to read service and repair manuals.
Ability to utilize asset tracking software.
Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.

Education/Experience
Technical degree from an accredited institution preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as those listed above.
Five years of related experience preferred.
Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
Valid Driver’s License must be able to pass Company MVR policy.
Physical Requirements
Frequent physical activity like climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, driving, pushing, pulling, lifting, and using hands.
Work may involve exposure to mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, dust, chemicals, oils, harsh weather, poor lighting, tight spaces, and loud noise.
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally (with team assistance) and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
