THE POSITION

Join the Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Protective Services Unit. In this Aging Care Manager 3 position, you will serve as a professional Aging Protective Services Investigator and provide protective services for older adults. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this Aging Care Manager 3 role, you will help protect older adults and support their well-being an Aging Protective Services Investigator by performing a variety of professional tasks, communicating directly with each older adult we serve, and collaborating with other professionals. Your duties will include:


  • Intake: Review reports of need, conduct face-to-face interviews with older adults, and determine category and priority of protective services within regulatory timeframes
  • Investigative Work: Examine allegations of abuse, gather evidence and documents, and interview all collateral contacts pertinent to the case
  • Case Management: Take steps to protect older adults by arranging for services, medical help, legal intervention, or any other actions necessary to protect the older adult
  • Inter-Agency Coordination: Work with law enforcement, medical providers, and other agencies to come to a conclusion regarding the case
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed case records and complete required reports in the database


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or
  • One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.
