THE POSITION

Join the Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Protective Services Unit. In this Aging Care Manager 3 position, you will serve as a professional Aging Protective Services Investigator and provide protective services for older adults. This role brings purpose as you respond to urgent needs and connect people with life-changing support. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this Aging Care Manager 3 role, you will help protect older adults and support their well-being an Aging Protective Services Investigator by performing a variety of professional tasks, communicating directly with each older adult we serve, and collaborating with other professionals. Your duties will include:
Intake:
Review reports of need, conduct face-to-face interviews with older adults, and determine category and priority of protective services within regulatory timeframes
Investigative Work:
Examine allegations of abuse, gather evidence and documents, and interview all collateral contacts pertinent to the case
Case Management:
Take steps to protect older adults by arranging for services, medical help, legal intervention, or any other actions necessary to protect the older adult
Inter-Agency Coordination:
Work with law enforcement, medical providers, and other agencies to come to a conclusion regarding the case
Documentation:
Maintain detailed case records and complete required reports in the database
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor;
or
One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field;
or
An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Luzerne or Wyoming counties. If no eligible candidates who live within Luzerne or Wyoming counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
