Intake Clinician

Oceans Healthcare, Norman, OK, United States

Norman Regional Health System and Oceans Healthcare have partnered to expand access to behavioral health services in south central Oklahoma through construction of a new, state‑of‑the‑art behavioral hospital. The Behavioral Health Center at Porter Health Village will be a 48‑bed facility, more than doubling the current inpatient capacity for adult and senior behavioral health patients. The freestanding hospital will replace the existing 20‑bed behavioral health unit and add new services including an intensive outpatient program and a dedicated geriatric behavioral health unit located on the Norman Regional Porter campus.

The Intake Clinician receives and responds to call inquiries for potential admissions and general questions. The Clinician obtains the required information to facilitate admissions, makes referrals for persons not appropriate for admission, reviews pending admissions daily to ensure clinical, financial, insurance, and administrative information has been accurately obtained, and completes Level of Care Assessments. The Clinician works collaboratively with referral sources, community members, patients, providers, and interdepartmentally to ensure the facility’s mission of exemplary patient care and customer service is upheld. The Clinician maintains excellent customer service, listens and processes information, speaks and writes clearly, protects confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and hospital standards, initiates action, takes personal responsibility, suggests improvements, solves problems independently, complies with government regulations and hospital policies, and completes assigned work in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision.
