Asstistant Athletic Coach

Purpose of Job: Create a positive learning environment where the children learn sportsmanship, fundamental skills, teamwork, and responsibility.
Job Description: Catholic School sports programs emphasize skill development, fair play, teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, responsibility, and fun. Participants should be provided the opportunity to play in every game, and to learn/play different positions on the field/court.
Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent degree and cheer and coaching experience. Candidates should have experience coaching stunting.
Ensure safety precautions and necessary training is in place for all members.
Attend team meetings.
Adhere to all SAOP policies and procedures.
Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of SAOP.
Reports and coordinates with the Principal and Athletic Director.
Responsibilities

Teach fundamental skills to the children while emphasizing skill development, fair play, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun.
Be on time at all practices and games or find a replacement that is acceptable to the Principal.
Provide a safe environment for practice and games by checking the condition of the area where they are expected to cheer.
Examine all fields/court prior to each game for unexpected hazards.
Regulate your own emotional outbursts appropriately.
Teach skills in developmentally appropriate stages.
Enforce all School policies and rules as stated in the Faculty Handbook.
Be responsible for the children until they are turned over to a parent or guardian before leaving the field/gym.
Provide proper first aid when injuries occur.
Notify the Principal and fill out and turn in an accident report form the same day any injury occurs that requires more than simple first aid.
Call 911 for any severe injury and notify the Principal.
Report any problems with fields, equipment, player behavior, parent behavior, or officials to the Principal.
Be accessible by phone or email.
Read and have all registration forms from your cheerleaders at every practice and game.
You will be responsible for knowing the existing medical conditions of your cheerleaders that are listed on their registration form.
