Maintenance Supervisor II (All Trades)

Hours of Work: 0700hrs – 1500hrs

Eligibility: Current MTA employees must have at least one year of service in their current role. Eligibility to interview also requires maintaining a satisfactory record in performance, attendance, and disciplinary conduct. This position is open to all NYC Transit Maintenance Supervisors I and II (All Trades A/B/C/D/E/F).

Job Summary
The selected candidate will supervise projects, interpret blueprints, coordinate materials, and oversee staff and maintenance activities. The role also includes coordinating with stakeholders, supervising Maintenance Supervisors, and acting as Superintendent when required.

Responsibility
The selected candidate is responsible for supervising structure and/or lighting rehabilitation operations and repairs as they impact the physical integrity of NYC Transit Facilities, including electrical, plumbing, structural elements of the Employee Facility Rooms and Employee Locker Rooms. The candidate will supervise projects across locations to improve operations, structural integrity, electrical functions, and cosmetic appearances of the Employee Facility Rooms and Employee Locker Rooms; read blueprints and interpret them as they pertain to layout construction; order necessary material and equipment; oversee subordinates, develop inventory lists, maintain, repair, and/or construction activities to ensure assets are safe and reliable. The individual will interface with managers within and outside the division to ensure safety protocols and procedures and the construction work and any third‑party assistance needed are communicated and scheduled accordingly and supervise all Maintenance Supervisor Level 1’s in FCC shops. Assume the duties and responsibilities of the Superintendent in his/her absence.

1st Step – Entrance $110,381

2nd Year $111,951

3rd Year $115,888

Education and Experience
Five years of full-time satisfactory experience with a major railroad or transit authority; at least one year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Desired Skills

Strong Knowledge of MTA NYCT rules and regulations

Strong knowledge of construction trade, project maintenance techniques

Excellent Verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in the use of Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook 365 applications

The ability to keep inventory and create and submit material and equipment list to be ordered as needed.
