SUMMARY
OPEN UNTIL FILLED -
Performs a wide range of housekeeping and related support duties to ensure assigned areas are clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly, while contributing to a positive campus environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality customer service while adhering to college policies, procedures, and safety standards; foster positive working relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards, maintenance issues, and repair needs (e.g., leaks, damaged fixtures, unsafe conditions).
Support campus operations by assisting with the setup, operation, and breakdown of indoor and outdoor events, including moving and arranging furniture, staging, and equipment, and installing/removing signage.
Move and arrange furniture and equipment to support classroom configurations, office relocations, events, and other operational needs.
Provide housekeeping support for athletic facilities and campus events as assigned.
Assist with approved pest control and wildlife management efforts, as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas by emptying waste and recycling, collecting and transporting trash to designated disposal areas.
Clean and maintain entrances, including doors, glass, walkways, and surrounding areas; remove debris, smudges, spider webs, etc..
Clean and sanitize restrooms and showers (if applicable), including floors, fixtures, mirrors, countertops, and high-touch surfaces.
Replenish supplies such as toiletries and towels.
Clean glass surfaces, windows, and partitions as needed.
Vacuum carpets and rugs; sweep and mop floors, corridors, stairways, and common areas as needed.
Operate cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, buffers, polishers) in accordance with training and safety guidelines.
Maintain organized cleaning supply areas and monitor inventory levels.
Clean classroom boards only as directed; ensure trays and surrounding surfaces are maintained.
Weekly Duties and Responsibilities (Minimum)
Dust surfaces including furniture, railings, shelves, windowsills, and fixtures.
Clean baseboards and spot-clean walls.
Mop stairs and perform detailed floor care as needed.
Clean interior glass surfaces, partitions, and doors.
Service and maintain exterior waste receptacles.
Periodic (Annual or As Assigned) Duties
Deep clean rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture.
Shampoo carpets and perform floor restoration as needed.
Clean accessible interior and exterior windows.
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED/HSE
preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Prior professional housekeeping experience and experience operating cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, buffers, burnishers) preferred.
Experience operating outdoor equipment (e.g., tractors) preferred.
Pesticide license or ability to obtain.
Valid driver’s license required.
Successful completion of background check required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform moderate physical labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive motions.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including climbing stairs and covering large campus areas.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including non-slip, safety-toe footwear.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts, based on operational needs.
