PEIMS Specialist

Reports to: PEIMS Manager Pay Grade: Tech Pay 4
Dept./School: Information Systems Days: 227
Primary Purpose: The goal of the Information Systems PEIMS Specialist is to assist in the PEIMS and Core Collection reporting processes which will include monitoring data for accuracy, working with verifications and campus data compliance teams.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma; College Degree preferred.
Special Knowledge Skills:
Experience with electronic mail and microcomputer software such as spreadsheets, word processors, databases and Windows.
Ability to train end users in existing and new applications
Ability to work with other staff members as part of a team within a production-oriented information systems environment
Ability to work unsupervised and set task priorities
Ability to adapt quickly to a technically changing environment
Experience:
Minimum two years recent experience utilizing student or business data applications systems including but not limited to student demographic data, staff demographic data, attendance accounting, grade reporting, special programs, PEIMS, discipline
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitoring data entry errors and coordinating efforts with campus staff to improve data quality
Identify and report on trends of data inconsistencies to IS Data Compliance Coordinator
Work with campus staff to resolve data issues in a timely manner
Assist with training & support of campus data compliance teams
Assist in the preparation and distribution of data verification reports
Assist users in routine problem resolution by providing technical assistance and/or making appropriate referrals
Training district employees to enable them to properly implement and manage PEIMS data
Provide support on data integrity via email, phone or remote meeting application
Use knowledge of PEIMS data collection timelines and requirements
Assisting with the collection and editing of PEIMS data, as well as other state and federal reports
Research and resolve PID errors incurred during the PEIMS submission and the weekly PET submission
Assign TSDS Unique ID for both student and staff
Submit weekly Enrollment Tracking reports through TEAL
Maintain public/in-district locations of informational PEIMS data
Assist with preparing training materials
Performing data entry as required
Maintaining PEIMS reports library and researching archived PEIMS data as needed
Maintaining documentation related to job duties
Additional Requirements:
Maintains strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations
Communicates effectively with district personnel to assure that the highest level of diplomacy is maintained at all times
Demonstrates an attitude of quality service with working with district personnel
Functions within the policies and administrative procedures of the ECISD
Travels independently (local and overnight) to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
Accomplishes tasks in a timely manner
Periodically works after normal duty hours and occasional weekends or holidays to meet project deadlines or as directed by supervisor
Accepts other responsibilities as assigned
